Living: Interior Inspiration

Since we still need lots of time to get our new flat fully furnished and everything I'm not able to show you some pictures yet, but I love to search for inspirations on the web and thought it might be a nice idea to show them with you :)

My favorites are definitely the mini bar in the suitcase (I'm going to build one for us as well), the loft kitchen with the brick wall (I had a brick wall in my former flat and loved it...maybe I can stick some bricks onto the kitchen wall in here...? haha) and the lovely tiles around the sink. What are yours?

Living: Our new home

Well, it's been a loooong time since I posted the last entry on my blog, I know. I had so much to do but to be honest, I can't believe it's almost half a year since I posted here...

But here I am now, back on the blog and I promise (I really do) I will post more often from now on. Thanks to all my readers who are still here, I won't disappoint you, haha.

Since it's been half a year you haven't heard anything from me, there were lots of things happening but to keep it simple and short, I would like to tell you the biggest news - A. and I finally found a new flat!! It's been very hard, interminable and gruelling.
All in all it took five months and in the end I was near to a mental breakdown, there were only 9 days left until we had to leave the old flat and still haven't found a new one.... I was kind of disenchanted and didn't really realised how much it bothered me until we got a suprising call from a really nice real-estate agent who told us that we could have the flat of our dreams - I cried some tears of joy and felt all the burden falling down from my shoulder.

It really is the perfect flat, in the perfect area, in the perfect building. Everything's just perfect and I still can't believe it's our flat now :)

On ask.fm I've been asked a few times about the new flat, and yes, I am going to show you something, but it will take some time until the flat is furnished and decorated and everything, but I thought it might be interesting to see the process as well, so here are the first few pictures:

and last but not least - a thank you card for our real-estate agent :)

So, I hope you are able to forgive my absence and enjoyed the first pictures of our new adorable home :)

I know, I'm a bit late....but....

... I wanted to share some pictures of this year's Woodstock festival with you. I spent six great days in Poland with some of my best friends and lots of other people I like. Just like the years before I had the feeling that it has been the best Woodstock ever, and it really is like this, it's getting better every fucking year. I just realized that it has already been my ninth time there, I'm getting old! Here are some impressions:

me and the coolest shark hat ever - unfortunately some polish guy stole it right off of my head :(

if you have to stay outside all day long and it's just too hot, there's nothing better than a fresh water melon....

...except from cooling down in the pool! Just like the years before, the boys built a pool but this year's pool has been bigger than any pool before!

wow. A festival selfie.

Breakfast.

Hare rama, rama haaaaaare, I loooove the food the Krishnas are serving there every year - it's fucking delicious (plus it is vegan, yaaay)

Another way to keep your head cool when it's hot outside - wear the leftovers of a watermelon - only negative thing is that it is quite heavy and you can't wear it all day long....

...so why don't you just go for a walk towards the river nearby? We went there almost every evening for a little refreshment and....

...a beautiful view.

We found this little guy and named him "Herb", he was so tame and sat on my arm without any intention to escape.

They do have different names on the coke bottles in Poland, my favorite was Kumpela :D

The main stage, starring at this picture reminds me of how hardly I can't wait for the next Woodstock to come!

Has anyone of you been there this year?

Yesterday was such a nice day, I had a photo shoot in the early afternoon, later I went for a walk with Jakob and then we met Gülsün for dinner - just a perfect Sunday :)

The shoot was quite cool, I haven't had any shoots in the last time, I guess my last shoot was the one for 99 Berlin Problems in 2011 xD Quite a long time ago... Here is the first result from yesterday, how do you like it?

I like it a lot and I hardly can't wait to see the rest :)

And here I am in a more casual outfit later that day - the bag btw is one of my favorites! I bought it in Amsterdam a few weeks ago, I'm sure you'll see it in future posts quite often :D

We started our dinner tour in a vietnamese restaurant, the food was nice but not overwhelming. Afterwards we walked down the street as we discovered a really nice restaurant, so we decided to have another dessert there. We sat outside in the restaurant garden and I can't tell you how glad I am that you can finally sit outside again in the evening!!!!

Hope you had a nice Sunday too!

Join me in death

Well, since I was a 13-year old girl I absolutely loved HIM. Ville Valo was my first love and I still think he's way too hot for this world :D I bought every CD, every magazine and everything else that contained something about HIM. My wall just looked like every other fangirl's wall - from top to bottom completely covered in pictures of Ville. I listened to their songs day in, day out. But then, a few years later, I think it was just a few months after the release of "Dark Light" I somehow lost my interest in HIM. I still liked them a lot but I wasn't addicted to their music like I was before. That's why I never noticed they still existed as a band and even released new albums. It was a cold day in winter when I was at work and my boss just changed the music and decided to play old HIM songs all night long, we had so much fun singing and dancing behind the bar and I was wondering why I ever gave up listening to HIM. From then on questions were spinning around my mind "what the fuck has happened to HIM and Ville Valo? Is he still alive? Do they still make music??" I just surfed the internet as I found the best information ever: they were about to release a new album AND they're touring around!!!!! I ordered three tickets in the pre-pre-sale (for me, my boss and Jakob) and luckily we got them (of course the concert was sold out within minutes).
Last Monday has been the day! I was so excited and just felt like 15 again, Jakob and I met my boss and some other fellow students in front of the Postbahnhof where we needed to queue for hours. Ok, not HOURS, but at least one hour. Immediately after entering I spent my first 28,50€ within seconds. 25€ for a HIM shirt and 3,50€ for my first beer. We had some more beers and suddenly the concert started, Maria, a fellow student of Jakob, and I decided to try getting in front row but the audience was like...shit. I thought they were there for a concert of a band they fucking love?? Mostly all of them were standing around, with their arms crossed and not willing to let us through. We, full of beer and adrenaline, ignored the fists in our backs and just made our way trough until we finally reached at least the third row. You might not believe it, but as boring the audience was, as brutal they were. One girl even bit me in the back! Stupid bitch, Ville is mine! Ville of course was hot as hell and the concert was nice though the audience was still not rocking at all. After the concert Maria and I managed to get a plectrum each! Oh my I was a lucky girl :D We just had one more beer there, then decided to leave for another drink somewhere else (of course we ended in the Zyankali Bar ^^) where Gülsün decided to join us and when my working mate decided to close the bar, we decided to leave for another drink at Clash. Afterwards we ate lots of disgusting french fries at Curry 36 and went finally home, in a shopping basket, lol. The sun was about to rise as we finally managed to get home, I guess I don't need to mention I didn't make it to my lessons the next day? ;) All in all it's been a great night and I AM SO IN LOVE WITH VILLE! Has anyone of you been there?!?!?!?!!

Small presents keep a friendship alive.

I guess, you all know that feeling caused by a small present you didn't expect, don't you? Unpacking it, giddy with excitement, finally knowing what it is and being fulfilled with gratefulness and overwhelmed by feelings for the other person, isn't that great? Also, I think the other way round it's pretty nice too, seeing your friend unpacking what you chose, knowing that it is just the right thing for him or her. Yeeeeah, that's satisfying too.

Well, to be honest, what I'm talking about hasn't been a small present- a few weeks before Gülsün's birthday in November I had the sudden inspiration that a trip together to somewhere in Europe would be great. As you know, I'm just a poor student and don't have that much money, so I had to base my decision on what would be the cheapest flight. But to tell you the truth, the cheapest flight was to somewhere I don't even remember anymore and didn't want to go to. So I chose the second cheapest flight and that has been Amsterdam! How cool is that!? So I spent a few days on texting Gülsün about her working times, of course not too obviously, and then I booked the flights. But oooh, from then on it still has been about three weeks until her birthday, I almost died on that sneakiness! But time flies fast,  so her birthday came and I could finally reveal my present :) I guess I don't need to mention that she was very excited about it ;)

Later that evening we found a very nice and cheap apartment with a roof-deck, located 10 minutes away from the center of Amsterdam, we contacted the landlord and got the confirmation about 15 minutes later.

Full of anticipation we started our trip about two weeks ago, we had a great time together, the weather wasn't as good as we expected but at least we had some sunshine :)

What was your greatest present to someone you really love? :)

Golden touch

Today we went out for grocery shopping and a walk through our lovely neighborhood. To see and feel the sunlight after ages of dark pushed my mood to a higher level. You know I'm not that kind of sun worshiper and summer is way too hot for me, but after months of grey skies and snow and freeze even I  enjoy the warm sun.

Oh, and yesterday Sascha made this lovely sketch for me - I think it's perfectly me and everyone who knows me would agree, don't you? :D

Enjoy your saturday night, I'm off to work now!
