thinking: over the years

When people ask me about my (optical) change over the years I often answer way too fast. I tell them I didn't change that much, that my hair still looks the same, that I still wear the same clothes I used to wear in the past, that my facial features are still the same, that my daily make up routine still is the same as it has been for ages. Superficially speaking it's not all lies. But when you look back at old pictures, you really see a difference in between all those years. It just happened recently that I scrolled through all of my facebook profile pictures, from the very beginning in 2009 until now, 2014. All in all it's been an overview over the last five years and the longer I stare at these pictures, the more changes I recognize.

Five years ago I had loads of ugly piercings in my face, I wore clothes and accessories I would never ever wear again and although my hair color is still the same, I used to style it in a different way back then. I also see my facial features changing - not that I'm getting any wrinkles (yet, but hopefully it will take some time until then) but I can see that my expression now appears more grown-up than five years ago, I don't want to say by that I feel like a real adult now, and I don't think I will ever be, I still feel some kind of having this little child inside of me and yes, I'm proud of that. (You may remember Peter Maffay's "Nessaja"? If the lyric is not true then I don't know what ^^)

To bring this monologue to an end, you should try and look through your old pictures too, it's always funny to find out about yourself. All in all I can say that I'm quite satisfied with how I look now and I do laugh about some of my old pictures ;)

So, lean back, enjoy this journey through time (click to enlarge) and feel free to leave a comment about how weird I look on some of the pictures ^^

Random.

I just love my life so much right now! I'm done with my semestermodell, holidays just began and I finally got the time to see all my beloved ones again.
Since I had some hard weeks - I hardly slept, I worked all through the day (and all through the night), I almost lost my head, I didn't have the time to care about social contacts, I didn't even see Jakob except from about two hours per night - I need some time for myself now. So I started doing all the things I couldn't do the last weeks, I hang around with friends, I have cocktails, I go dancing, I don't sleep for days, I cook, I sit on the balcony reading a book (it's been way too long without reading), ..... I could tell you so much more, but you know what I mean - I finally got a life again.
Also I'm looking forward to traveling to London next Tuesday! I just can't wait being in London again and as a perfect start for my holidays I picked up my friend Carl from London last Saturday at the airport. He stays at our place for 10 days and returns to the UK about eight hours before I will leave for London :D It's just perfect and so lovely to spend so much time with a good friend, the last time we met was in October! But as I don't want to write an endless and boring blog post I will now shut up and  here they are - pictures and short stories, randomly as ever. Enjoy!

I'm such a typical blogger - I use to post my food photos all the time :D and of course - everything is vegan (and fucking delicious)

the final last hours - finishing my semestermodell // we're all through! // no sleep for days, 7 hours left until I had to present my semestermodell and the drawings, so I started getting mad and somehow I drew vampire teeth into my drawing's face -.-

oh well, food again xD // the best vegan falafel !!!! I'm addicted // preparations for a late breakfast today

best of

well, somehow we used to get drunk after school (not only once), we had such a funny time :D

haha, what happens if you have a bunch of fashion design students, alcohol, a boring t-shirt and a scissor? yes, you get a super cool redesigned t-shirt - oh Sascha boy, you're so stylish now! ;D

what's all that things going on with alcohol in school?! We had some fun being drunk in the elevator really early in the morning // Fabi boy forced me to wear his tower boots. Well, they really make your legs look so skinny, but me and tower boots? I don't think so :D // We had our last lesson with our great costume history teacher and a guy from my class drew this for him, amazing hm?

You might have recognized that I really do a lot of partying at the moment, but I just need this so badly :D So I went to Kater Holzig one morning after work, I really like my work mate and we had a great night out. I came home the next day at 2pm, lol. // Kater Holzig while the sun rises up // my favorite drink at the moment - Becherovka on ice :D

I made cocktails for the girls! Don't they look super tasty? // I love stepping out on the balcony and seeing new blossoms everyday // the most amazing sunset last week

I got stuck in the fridge :D // on our way to the club // of course we had to check our make up before queuing

after all we ended up at Sisyphos (again), it was Carl's birthday by the way and we tried to make the best out of it and I know that he really liked it. Somehow my party routines changed, I use to arrive at the club when the sun already rises, I return back home around mid-day, I try to sleep for one or two hours and then I start doing something, and after all I somehow always end up in a club somewhere, don't ask why, I don't know. Jakob loves to make fun out of it and always says "see you tomorrow for lunch" when I leave the house for work haha. Well, as the poster says above "excess, my darling". Sometimes it just has to be like this.

detail of one of my drawings // I had so many nice magazines in my letterbox // oh, and did I already tell you? me and my workmates collected some money and booked a flight and a hotel for our boss, aren't we the best staff ever? ;)

Soooo, I know this has been quite a lot of pictures and I'm sure you don't know what to comment as there is so much to see and read xD But I would love to read something from you :)

Enjoy your rest of the day xxx

my weekend

Friday Jakob and I finally found some time to go to the garden center to buy some nice plants, flowers and seeds for our balcony. We spent a lot of money but I don't care 'cause I want our balcony to be the most beautiful one around here :D I even found hair color matching flowers and of course I needed to buy them.

Later that day I began to plant everything and arrange it, and rearranged it, and rearranged it again and I'm still not finished arranging everything 'cause I haven't found the perfect arrangement yet. But I already like it a lot and I can't wait for those summer nights with dinner, drinks and friends between our lovely flowers.

Saturday I went to the market to buy some fresh vegetables and fruits, I love buying food there, it's so much cheaper than the supermarket and of course the atmosphere is so much more special.

I bought tons of strawberries and blueberries! And avocados, I LOVE avocados, especially with soya sauce :D

And of course I ate lots of soya yoghurt with vegan ice-cream and berries this weekend. It's just so delicious, I don't want to eat anything else anymore.

This is  my old friend Dani, he likes to hang around in our bar all night long until I can go. We often go for a drink after work then, and so we did tonight. I came home around 7 am but I couldn't sleep for no longer than three hours as I had to get up quite early to get dressed for a baby party I was invited to today.

When I came home this morning I got this super cute message from Dani :)

This is what I wore when Jakob, Gülsün and I were on our way to Lui's baby party.

You might remember my old friend Lui? I used to post lots of stories and pictures of and with her, she's pregnant now and I still can't believe she's going to give birth to a child so soon!!!!! It feels as if it was yesterday when we used to get drunk and do crazy shit every weekend - we better won't tell her child ;) I also can't believe that so many people and old friends around me already have own children or going to have them very soon, what happened and where is all the time?!

Lui had the great idea that her guests should draw nice things on simple white bodys and socks. Of course Gülsün and I drew ourselves hehehe.

Now you know about my weekend and I hope you had a nice one too!

What I wore // My new favorite food

My week started quite nice, Monday is always my short day, so I came back home around 1 pm, just right before the postman rang my doorbell. Sheinside sent me my coat! Yesterday was the day Jakob and I finally found some time to take pictures of it and what should I say? Here it is:

The coat:

Just received it from Sheinside! I love how it looks elegant and classy although it has a hoodie. It's the perfect thin coat you need for cloudy spring and summer days.

The blouse:

Bought it last summer in a 2nd hand shop in London, I love it because of its polka dots and the bow. And the fact that it is transparent, I love transparent tops :D (as you might have recognized in the past haha)

The top:

Was a basic buy at Vero Moda, I wear it often underneath transparent blouses or tops which are too short.

The pants:

Same as last time, Primark.

The bag:

I found it in a 2nd hand shop but the label says Primark, never saw it there, hmmm. Nevertheless - I LOVE it as I love patent leather and croc leather :D

The shoes:

Bought them about five years ago at New Yorker but still love them a lot, there are very comfy and still not broken or something.

The glasses:

I definitely know I bought them at h&m, but I don't know when. I don't wear them often but they match the lovely polka dot blouse :)

coat: sheinside // blouse: 2ndhand // top: vero moda // pants: primark // shoes: new yorker // bag: 2ndhand // sunnies: h&m

And this is what I wore underneath:

There is a nice bridge in our neighbor-hood where we sat and enjoyed the sun (or the shadow, as you might know the sun is way too hot for me -luckily there is enough shadow on the bridge as well ;)) after we took the pictures. I would love to hang around like this more often but until the beginning of June there won't be any time as I have to do so many other things like finishing my semestermodell etc etc... :(

And I need to share my new favorite food with you, I swear, I'm addicted and I won't eat anything else this summer, I could eat this all day long, it's just super delicious *.* It's vegan vanilla yoghurt, vegan and gluten free ice-cream and fresh berries I bought on the market in our lovely neighbor hood - you should definitely try this at least once!

And here is a heart which goes to all of you my lovely followers and readers! I would like to thank you for all the support and nice comments, blogging wouldn't be so much fun without you! xxx

Black is the new black

Black is the new black and will always be. You already know about my passion for black and today I want to show you one of my favorite all-dressed-in-black outfits :) I really like the little golden accents, they make the look more elegant and classic and I feel so well-dressed with it!

The coat

I bought the coat just a few weeks ago in Amsterdam, it's from Mango and the special thing about it is, it's a two-in-one piece - you can unzip the zipper and within seconds you'll have a short jacket instead of a coat! How cool is that?! I just had to buy it when I found out how alterable it is :)

The necklace:

I bought the necklace just a few days after my return from Amsterdam when I was on my way to Krakow. We had an one hour stop in Warsaw and just the moment I stepped out of the money exchange office my eyes caught that little golden necklace in a shop window on the opposite site of the train station. I ran into that shop and bought it immediately (lucky me, it was the last one!) :)

The tunic:

That was some kind of I-had-to-buy-it-cause-it-was-reduced thing. I strolled around the boring h&m sale last winter and found that tunic when I recognized there was a small hole in the seam, I thought I might ask if I can get it for even less money and finally I found a store assistant. She frowned and then said "ok, but you can't bring it back then". I didn't even tried the tunic on, I just paid for it and left the store. At home I tried it on for the very first time and what should I say? I loved it from the very beginning :)

The pants:

Well, you might remember that I'm not into wearing pants for so long now but I quickly recognized that it is very hard to find the perfect pair. I am not even sure if this is the right pair yet but they're very comfy, they're very skinny and in a deep black. And yes, they're from Primark. But I like them.

The shoes:

Oh my, I bought them about two weeks ago when the first &other stories store had it's opening in Berlin. It was love at first sight! I love the cut-outs so much and I really feel as if they were just made for me :) You know, if I were a pair of shoes, I would be these!

coat: Mango // tunic: h&m // necklace: small boutique in Warsaw // pants: Primark // shoes: &other stories

I decided to tell a little story behind every piece of my outfit to make outfit posts less boring - I was wondering if you guys like it? Let me know! :)

Wish you a great Walpurgisnacht and a lovely 1st of May tomorrow!

Join me in death

Well, since I was a 13-year old girl I absolutely loved HIM. Ville Valo was my first love and I still think he's way too hot for this world :D I bought every CD, every magazine and everything else that contained something about HIM. My wall just looked like every other fangirl's wall - from top to bottom completely covered in pictures of Ville. I listened to their songs day in, day out. But then, a few years later, I think it was just a few months after the release of "Dark Light" I somehow lost my interest in HIM. I still liked them a lot but I wasn't addicted to their music like I was before. That's why I never noticed they still existed as a band and even released new albums. It was a cold day in winter when I was at work and my boss just changed the music and decided to play old HIM songs all night long, we had so much fun singing and dancing behind the bar and I was wondering why I ever gave up listening to HIM. From then on questions were spinning around my mind "what the fuck has happened to HIM and Ville Valo? Is he still alive? Do they still make music??" I just surfed the internet as I found the best information ever: they were about to release a new album AND they're touring around!!!!! I ordered three tickets in the pre-pre-sale (for me, my boss and Jakob) and luckily we got them (of course the concert was sold out within minutes).
Last Monday has been the day! I was so excited and just felt like 15 again, Jakob and I met my boss and some other fellow students in front of the Postbahnhof where we needed to queue for hours. Ok, not HOURS, but at least one hour. Immediately after entering I spent my first 28,50€ within seconds. 25€ for a HIM shirt and 3,50€ for my first beer. We had some more beers and suddenly the concert started, Maria, a fellow student of Jakob, and I decided to try getting in front row but the audience was like...shit. I thought they were there for a concert of a band they fucking love?? Mostly all of them were standing around, with their arms crossed and not willing to let us through. We, full of beer and adrenaline, ignored the fists in our backs and just made our way trough until we finally reached at least the third row. You might not believe it, but as boring the audience was, as brutal they were. One girl even bit me in the back! Stupid bitch, Ville is mine! Ville of course was hot as hell and the concert was nice though the audience was still not rocking at all. After the concert Maria and I managed to get a plectrum each! Oh my I was a lucky girl :D We just had one more beer there, then decided to leave for another drink somewhere else (of course we ended in the Zyankali Bar ^^) where Gülsün decided to join us and when my working mate decided to close the bar, we decided to leave for another drink at Clash. Afterwards we ate lots of disgusting french fries at Curry 36 and went finally home, in a shopping basket, lol. The sun was about to rise as we finally managed to get home, I guess I don't need to mention I didn't make it to my lessons the next day? ;) All in all it's been a great night and I AM SO IN LOVE WITH VILLE! Has anyone of you been there?!?!?!?!!

Where have I been?

So sorry for not posting in a long time! But lots of things kept me away from blogging, I will try to post more often in the next days as there are many things I want to share with you :) If you're following me on instagram (@kronjuwel), you already know that I've been to the hospital half the week :/

But now I am back home and will try to catch up for everything :)

Have a lovely Sunday!

07042013

Omg finally another sunny day here in Berlin! I can't wait for spring to come, I'm so tired of all the snow, grey and dark days, and of course I'm totally tired of the fucking cold. Jakob and I just came back in from taking some pictures and the sun was so warm, I almost couldn't believe it.
Unfortunately we had too little time as my parents will come for dinner this evening and I have to clean the flat before they'll arrive. So,  I just wanted to wish you a lovely sunny Sunday and hope you'll have a great evening as I'm sure I will have :)

Small presents keep a friendship alive.

I guess, you all know that feeling caused by a small present you didn't expect, don't you? Unpacking it, giddy with excitement, finally knowing what it is and being fulfilled with gratefulness and overwhelmed by feelings for the other person, isn't that great? Also, I think the other way round it's pretty nice too, seeing your friend unpacking what you chose, knowing that it is just the right thing for him or her. Yeeeeah, that's satisfying too.

Well, to be honest, what I'm talking about hasn't been a small present- a few weeks before Gülsün's birthday in November I had the sudden inspiration that a trip together to somewhere in Europe would be great. As you know, I'm just a poor student and don't have that much money, so I had to base my decision on what would be the cheapest flight. But to tell you the truth, the cheapest flight was to somewhere I don't even remember anymore and didn't want to go to. So I chose the second cheapest flight and that has been Amsterdam! How cool is that!? So I spent a few days on texting Gülsün about her working times, of course not too obviously, and then I booked the flights. But oooh, from then on it still has been about three weeks until her birthday, I almost died on that sneakiness! But time flies fast,  so her birthday came and I could finally reveal my present :) I guess I don't need to mention that she was very excited about it ;)

Later that evening we found a very nice and cheap apartment with a roof-deck, located 10 minutes away from the center of Amsterdam, we contacted the landlord and got the confirmation about 15 minutes later.

Full of anticipation we started our trip about two weeks ago, we had a great time together, the weather wasn't as good as we expected but at least we had some sunshine :)

What was your greatest present to someone you really love? :)
