London (Style) Diary No.2

With a little delay - here is the second post from London :) We've been to Shoreditch on Sunday and had the perfect weather with 20 degrees and sunshine. We walked around Brick Lane with our friend Danny who turned out the be the best guide :) Brick Lane is perfect for vintage shopping - there are hundreds of lovely vintage stores and they aren't even that expensive. So if you're looking for some nice vintage stores you should really go to Shoreditch, it's way better than Camden Town.

Danny took some nice pictures of me and Sofie and here is just a small selection:

London (Style) Diary No. 1

I'm such a lucky girl! I'm back in London for nearly 11 days :D And since I know that so many of my lovely followers are also huge London fans, I decided to share a post with you daily again :) This time I came to London with a friend of mine, Sofie, and you will get to know her in this post too. We decided it'll be more fun if we're also taking pictures of her instead of only taking pictures of me and posting them here.

We arrived on the early Friday evening in Southend (which is the smallest airport I've ever seen) and didn't went out for a party or something which turned out to be the right decision as we had to get up quite early on Saturday morning to get the train to St. Albans, where we met Sofie's family for lunch. We spent the whole day in St. Albans, had tea and brownies with Sofie's lovely granny and walked around to find a nice place for taking the pictures. And here they are:

I'm a little girl in a big big world.... I look so tiny :D

of course I have my union jack pin with me

And here she is - Sofie! We're studying fashion design together and it was more like a spontaneous idea to go to London together, we sat in our nude drawing course when we decided that we both wanted to get out of here, so we looked up the flights and booked them immediately.

Small presents keep a friendship alive.

I guess, you all know that feeling caused by a small present you didn't expect, don't you? Unpacking it, giddy with excitement, finally knowing what it is and being fulfilled with gratefulness and overwhelmed by feelings for the other person, isn't that great? Also, I think the other way round it's pretty nice too, seeing your friend unpacking what you chose, knowing that it is just the right thing for him or her. Yeeeeah, that's satisfying too.

Well, to be honest, what I'm talking about hasn't been a small present- a few weeks before Gülsün's birthday in November I had the sudden inspiration that a trip together to somewhere in Europe would be great. As you know, I'm just a poor student and don't have that much money, so I had to base my decision on what would be the cheapest flight. But to tell you the truth, the cheapest flight was to somewhere I don't even remember anymore and didn't want to go to. So I chose the second cheapest flight and that has been Amsterdam! How cool is that!? So I spent a few days on texting Gülsün about her working times, of course not too obviously, and then I booked the flights. But oooh, from then on it still has been about three weeks until her birthday, I almost died on that sneakiness! But time flies fast,  so her birthday came and I could finally reveal my present :) I guess I don't need to mention that she was very excited about it ;)

Later that evening we found a very nice and cheap apartment with a roof-deck, located 10 minutes away from the center of Amsterdam, we contacted the landlord and got the confirmation about 15 minutes later.

Full of anticipation we started our trip about two weeks ago, we had a great time together, the weather wasn't as good as we expected but at least we had some sunshine :)

What was your greatest present to someone you really love? :)
